    Vue review

Posted by Liam Sharp on 1st Feb 2023

I'm currently giving the program a 3 star review simply based on the usability so far. I had loved Bryce back in the day and have been trying to find an alternative. Vue seems to be it, but it is nowhere near as intuitive, which is a shame. I'm a Mac user, so options are limited. That said, what I've seen looks amazing, so I'm hoping that I can learn how to get the most out of it without watching too many videos - I'm a very busy full-time professional creator so my down-time is extremely limited, sadly. Hoping it proves a wise purchase! Cheers.

I have been using both software a lot recently and have been satisfied with the results more than ever as I discover
    all of their capabilities.

I used to be a great fan of Vue a few years ago.
Since I do this type of things as a hobby, I regularly skipped one or two updates.
With the subscription scheme, it's way too costly for what I'm doing with it.
I know it's a standard now to impose subscriptions for software : that's probably the best way to make people use open source !
By the way, where I live internet is shaky, so the licensing system is a real annoyance.

[e-on - June 2022] Hello and thanks for your feedback. We understand your point with regards to interoperability features being only in Professional and Enterprise solutions, esp when it comes to using our tools as a hobby.
Keep an eye on our blog and various communication channels, for a major announcement early this summer (2022).
On a final note, annual licenses only require an internet connection for the first activation request. Once activated the software can be run offline for a full year. Best

Vue is a great product, I have used it for years in one form or another. Thegreat thing about it is it is always evolving adding new features and effects. The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 is that it lacks the integration it once had with 3ds

It would be great if we could get back the seamless workflow from previous versions of the max plugin.

[e-on] Hello Dustin, thanks for the review. We're unsure as to what you refer to with the plugins, as we haven't removed any, and the plugins for 34ds Max, Maya, C4D and LightWave are still available in the Professional and Enterprise solutions. If you are unable to have them installed, please contact our tech support center, they will happily help you out.

Newly purchased, extended license for Vue Professional

Posted by Larry Cole on 24th Sep 2021

I'm still unsure how extended licensing works. (My current subscription is still good for another 262 days.)

    VUE Prof.

Posted by Claus on 9th Dec 2020

I use VUE in 2 scenarios:
To prepare space ship models and to export them to my WebGL framework for realtime rendering of space scenes (almost all related to Star Trek fan productions).
And to create landscape scenes of fictional places or alien world scenes. I love to play with different atmospheres in VUE without changing the scene.
